let’s play a game of word association, shall we? if i were to say “reality tv”, what would you say? words like trashy, stupid, scripted, fake, obnoxious, waste of time, and idiotic probably come to mind, correct? it’s hard to argue against those words because most of those shows fit the billing. but like anything else, there’s always exceptions to the rule… and in this case, the biggest loser, is one of them.
our good friend, jerry meng, called us up one day to see if we’d be interested in doing a video reportage for dolvett quince – one of the trainers on the biggest loser. we were actually pretty stoked about it…
full disclosure, we’ve only watched his show a few times in passing – sorry dolvett, but cash cab trumps all (wah wah WAHHH!!) however, we’ve always thought the show was inspiring because it always showed what we can overcome if we just apply ourselves.
we ended up spending an entire weekend with dolvett. he was as advertised and much more. he left such an impression on us. he was kind, thoughtful, selfless, and most importantly sincere. there’s no wonder he has reached the kind of level of success he’s had.
below are some lifestyle images we took of our weekend with dolvett. and of course, the video reportage – #RiseAndGrind. we’re hoping that we develop this video into a series… fingers crossed.

do you ever look at something cool and then ask yourself, “self, how the hell did they make this?”. you never really get an answer because the artist, painter, creator isn’t there to answer you and so you either just come up with your own lame interpretation of how they did it and/or walk home scratching your head still wondering how they did it.
a few months ago, we were allowed to film the entire process of something so f’ing amazing that we nearly dropped our camera once we saw the finished product in person. michael kalish, an artist widely know for this work with license plates, along with oyler wu collaborative, an la based architectural design firm, created this monument for muhammad ali. the piece is actually something more than just a monument. it’s an architectural masterpiece that exemplifies both form and function. it’s awe inspiring.
below is the short documentary we wrote, produced, and directed based on michael kalish and his art. enjoy.

we have to admit… we knew little of jo koy before we met him. we knew that he was a comedian… and we knew he was filipino. but that would be the extent of it. we had NO idea what we were in for.
he’s got to be one of the funniest, sweetest, kindest people we’ve ever met in our lives. if you have NEVER seen his stand up live… please please please do so.
below is a video we filmed for him. it’s a quick day in the life type of profile – we have a few more things we’re developing with him. fingers crossed, we’ll have more webisodes up for you guys to see… yay! enjoy!
