by now you should know that we’re pretty bad at updating our blog – and when we do update our blog, it’s with a flurry of posts.  well, what better way to start off said flurry with one of the EASIEST engagement sessions we’ve ever had.

at first, we couldn’t decide on where to shoot kelly + shereef... they are such a great and fun couple that we knew we needed a place that wouldn’t detract from their natural chemistry.  ultimately, we decided to shoot them at the infamous walt disney concert hall.  normally, we try to stay away from the obvious locations like the disney hall since shooting at such a famous structure can overpower the couple…  luckily for us, nothing… absolutely nothing… can overpower the energy these two had… peep game, yo!

we’re SOOOO inviting you guys and all your friends to our wedding just so that you can be the life of our party!  congratulations again!

now for those who haven’t seen it, the video serves as a sequel of sorts to the winter music conference s.k.a.m. video we first posted few months ago.  we decided to take a more conceptual approach to this particular promotional video for a few reasons: a) a regular highlight video just seemed so boring to us, b) we thought it would be cool to stretch ourselves a little bit, and c) why not, right?!?!  so with a little help from our dear friends aaron proctor, cinematographer extraordinaire, and dj sketchomatic, sound engineer supreme, we created this lovely piece of cinematic geniousness – the king of clubs.

and if you enjoy our eyegasmic point of view of the deejay lifestyle, stay tuned because we have a few more projects coming down the pipe that’s sooo good that it will surely make you angry dance, kick your neighbors dog, and drink piss warm whiskey. yup… it’s THAT good.  o captain, my captain: the captains of industry story and this life chose me: the vice story as well as an upcoming “DJ Series: Who’s a SKAM Artist?“

so… all six of us ventured out to the Viceroy in santa monica to play a little game of “ok… say cheese!!!” tons of fun… tons of laughs… and tons of evidence to prove it.  at first we were a little bummed out when we had to call a day. but then we remembered that we get to do this all over again in a month.  only this time, we’ll be holding fistfuls of gelato cones and playing the “ok…say cheese!” game in italy…  by the way, how the hell do you say that in italiano?!  i guess we’ll find out. buon giorno!!!

anyway, it just so happens that lizzy’s boss was in dire need of a photographer to shoot her daughter’s birthday party.  at first we thought, “we LOVE birthday parties!!” but unfortunately we had our own birthday party to attend to, angela’s mom’s birthday party.  but as luck would have it we were able to work it out.  it also turns out that lizzy’s boss is none other than nancy o’dell of access hollywood fame.

nancy was soooo amazing… more so than we’d ever imagined.  she was sweet, gracious, and generous with her time… and that was just with us!! she was like super mom when it came to her daugter 3 year old daughter ashby.  ashby looked like she had a lot of fun – it was a “little mermaid” themed birthday party.  a few other celebrities were there with their children and they were all a pleasure to meet especially ali landry.  who, by the way, has the most flawless skin.

anyway during our recent visit to vegas, we had the pleasure of meeting one of the guys from the show – pauly d. say what you will about how silly he may come off on screen, he was definitely one of the nicest guys we’ve ever met and so were his friends.

so what the hell were we doing with pauly d, you ask?  graham funke, one of the deejays we were filming that weekend, reluctantly agreed to getting his hair blown out by pauly d. and as luck would have it, we had our camera with us to capture it.  we were actually worried that we didn’t have enough battery power or memory left to capture this golden moment but fortunately for you lucky viewers, we did!

so without further adieu, we present you The Captains of Industry’s “The Gentleman’s Blowout”.

kevin and megan’s wedding party was BANANAS…  that’s what happens when you mix an open bar + 30 rambunctious friends that will gladly accept the challenge of shutting the open bar down + a laker win (they’re up 3-0!!! what the what?!) + 2 amazing best men speeches + 1 ridiculously funny deejay + and the nicest couple you’ll ever meet…  don’t believe us? we’ve got the pictures to prove it… BAM!

dj vice approached us a few days ago hoping to get a quick n’ dirty photo session so that he can have some new photos for the summer.  as luck would have it… we were available.  his only request was that we shoot him against a clean white seamless backdrop… simple right? wrong.  we don’t readily have access to that kind stuff… like i said, we’re mostly natural light photogs.  fortunately for us, our new roomie – meg cuna – is working for revolve clothing and had access to their photo studio.  she was able to convince the fine folks at revolve to let us play a little game of “learn how to shoot in a studio on the fly without making yourself look like an ass”.

now, we can’t fully release all the images because they’re going to be used for other worldly things… but here’s a sneak peak – watcha think?
